Step-by-Step:

  1. Give the bottle a good shake to mix the contents.
  2. Wash your client's hair with a cleansing shampoo, then divide it into manageable sections.
  3. Starting from the nape and using a brush, apply the product onto the hair, keeping half an inch away from the roots. Spread it evenly to the ends. Use a comb to distribute the product and remove any excess.
  4. Wait times are crucial to achieve the desired effect. Depending on your client's hair type and condition, adhere to the following wait times:
    • Sensitive and chemically damaged hair: 15-30 minutes.
    • Wavy hair: 30-45 minutes.
    • Chemical-free and resistant hair: 60-75 minutes.

The longer the wait time, the straighter the hair will become. If your client wants to maintain waves but eliminate frizz, adjust the wait time accordingly.

  1. Rinse thoroughly, ensuring all product is removed.
  2. Dry the hair and give it a good brush-through to prepare for straightening.
  3. Use a flat iron on thin strands, going over each section 15-30 times until the hair shines intensely and achieves the desired level of smoothness. Adjust the frequency based on your client's hair type:
    • 10-15 times for colored, chemically damaged, or sensitive hair.
    • 20-30 times for thicker, chemical-free, and resistant hair.

The more frequently the flat iron is used, and the higher the temperature, the straighter the hair will become.
A good average temperature to use is 400°F / 200°C. Watch for decreased steam as a sign that the hair is sealing. Remember, extra care is needed with sensitive, dyed, or damaged hair. A color change can occur but can be avoided by choosing the right flat-iron temperature. Adjust these elements accordingly if your client desires only a healthy enhancement, shinier hair, and frizz-free.

I have been using keratin personally and professionally for over fifteen years. Here are my observations after trying it on myself before I use it on any of my clients. 1-Product is very think and has a pleasant smell- However, despite being apply an inch away from scalp, it is very strong and can feel like it’s burning the scalp. If you’re using it right after color treatment, or on a client with high sensitivity- be mindful of this fact. 2- It might not contain formaldehyde, but If you are performing color service before this treatment, use color one shade darker as this product lifts color one shade or more and turns it brassy. For my roots, I use level 6N and they turned out 7G, my 9N highlights turned out 9KG. 3- Despite rinsing it well- when flat ironing it fumes a lot, and the fumes are just as strong as formaldehyde products. 4- when shampooing two days after the treatment, my hair tangled significantly and felt too dry. After blowout hair isn’t as shiny and smells like a mix of wet towel and burnt hair.
